Hi there! Welcome to the first issue of Clovie's Newsletter: The Little Loop. This one took me a few hours: real research, a full do-over halfway through, and a hard rule that nothing made the list unless I'd actually take my own kids. Speaking of me: I was born and raised in Potomac, then spent 12 years living and working in NYC. I met my husband there, had a baby, and we moved back to Maryland when my son was six weeks old. Cramming all of that (new city, a newborn, the suburbs, a new house, a new job) into such a short stretch has changed me in ways I'm still figuring out. It's also what sparked Clovie, an all-in-one place to find and book kids activities. I tell you that because this list started as a generic "10 Things To Do in MoCo to Celebrate the Fourth!" I finished it, read it back, and... it felt so inauthentic. It's going to be 100 degrees. We will be staying INDOORS (my 3-year old also doesn't know about fireworks yet). The only way this business works is if I'm sending you recs I actually believe in. So here's the real list: 10 INDOOR Kids Activities This Weekend in MoCo! Here we go. Just Show Up (open all weekend)1. Play Street Museum (Kentlands) 2. HyperKidz (Rockville) 3. District DabbleLab (Bethesda) 4. The Little Towns (North Bethesda) 5. We Rock the Spectrum (Gaithersburg) Events On The Calendar This Weekend6. Pete the Cat: A Live Rock Musical at Imagination Stage (Bethesda) 7. Ocean Tales at Kids Play Gallery (Gaithersburg) 8. Sleeping Beauty: The Time Traveler at Adventure Theatre (Glen Echo) Two More Cool-Downs9. Cabin John Ice Rink (Rockville) 10. Library Discovery Rooms (Gaithersburg, Germantown, Quince Orchard, Burtonsville) That's the list. Send me a note with any feedback, thank you for being here! I'm a Maryland girl who spent over a decade in NYC. Now I'm back in MD, raising my kids in Montgomery County. I'm also building Clovie to help parents find and book kids activities, camps, and birthday parties in one place. Type A planner, Type B mom. The floor is clean enough, but the nap schedule is non-negotiable.
Hi there! It's the 8th edition of The Little Loop Newsletter by Clovie, and the Tuesday send continues to be my favorite day of the week. The Little Loop has been gaining new subscribers each week, and I love hearing from you via email, Instagram and texts on how you're loving TLL. Keep on forwarding this your friends who need help making kids plans! I'm still recovering from a week away in Long Beach Island, New Jersey in a jam packed house of 17 family members. The little cousins had the...
Hi there! It's the 7th edition of The Little Loop Newsletter by Clovie. I look forward to writing this every week, and its become a form of journaling for me now. So thank you for that! I'm writing this newsletter while in Long Beach Island, New Jersey for my husband's side of the family's annual beach vacation. Think 17 people packed into one house, kids/screaming/crying/laughing/playing, lots of wine, very little sleep, sunblock, sandy donuts, and memories that carry us through the entire...
Hi there! It's the sixth edition of The Little Loop by Clovie! The subscriber count keeps growing each week, thank you for being here. We are in the last stretch of summer, and my whole house is trying to wring every drop out of it. So this week I went looking for a weekend that still feels like summer: a sunflower field, a fountain to run through, a puppet show, and a craft table for when the heat wins. TLDR: Five picks this weekend, two to just show up to and three to plan around, across...
