Clovie

I'm a Maryland girl who spent over a decade in NYC. Now I'm back in MD, raising my kids in Montgomery County. I'm also building Clovie to help parents find and book kids activities, camps, and birthday parties in one place. Type A planner, Type B mom. The floor is clean enough, but the nap schedule is non-negotiable.

5 Kids Activities in MoCo and DC This Weekend: Aug 18, 2026

Hi there! It's the 8th edition of The Little Loop Newsletter by Clovie, and the Tuesday send continues to be my favorite day of the week. The Little Loop has been gaining new subscribers each week, and I love hearing from you via email, Instagram and texts on how you're loving TLL. Keep on forwarding this your friends who need help making kids plans! I'm still recovering from a week away in Long Beach Island, New Jersey in a jam packed house of 17 family members. The little cousins had the...

Hi there! It's the 7th edition of The Little Loop Newsletter by Clovie. I look forward to writing this every week, and its become a form of journaling for me now. So thank you for that! I'm writing this newsletter while in Long Beach Island, New Jersey for my husband's side of the family's annual beach vacation. Think 17 people packed into one house, kids/screaming/crying/laughing/playing, lots of wine, very little sleep, sunblock, sandy donuts, and memories that carry us through the entire...

Several vibrant sunflowers bloom against a bright blue sky.

Hi there! It's the sixth edition of The Little Loop by Clovie! The subscriber count keeps growing each week, thank you for being here. We are in the last stretch of summer, and my whole house is trying to wring every drop out of it. So this week I went looking for a weekend that still feels like summer: a sunflower field, a fountain to run through, a puppet show, and a craft table for when the heat wins. TLDR: Five picks this weekend, two to just show up to and three to plan around, across...

Hi there! We made it to the fifth edition of The Little Loop by Clovie. Thank you for being here! My weekend: we had a blast at the Germantown Splash Park for a 3rd birthday party. Highly recommend (and I did, in the Little Loop last week!). The rest of the weekend was our usual "little loop" (now you know where the name came from): Cabin John train, pool, "taking a drive" since our 3-year only naps in the car, soccer class, swim class, and multiple double espressos. This weekend's TLDR: we...

Hello again! Welcome to the fourth edition of The Little Loop by Clovie. If you’re new here, please say hello! This past weekend was an interesting one — poor air quality, one sick kid, but had a nice turnaround on Sunday with a family outing to a new restaurant that reminded me why I’m obsessed with my kids. We’ve got some low to mid 80s this weekend, so the list leans two directions: find water and shade, or drive out to the local farmland to see some cute animals and shop local produce....

A large pile of fresh, ripe blueberries.

Hi there! Welcome to the third issue of Clovie's Newsletter: The Little Loop. We are officially in the deep end of summer. My 3-year old just started jumping off the diving board, which means I now spend my weekends treading water underneath it, arms out, telling a kid I have got them when that kid very clearly no longer needs to be got. The pool has become our whole season. And not just the swimming part. The people part. It took years, and I do mean years, but we finally have the thing...

madison square garden, just married

Hi there! Welcome to the second issue of Clovie's Newsletter: The Little Loop. Update from the heat wave and July Fourth Weekend with two little ones: we survived it. Lots of hot dogs, and mostly indoors, exactly as promised. But it turns out I wasn't the only one having a big weekend in the middle of a 100 degree holiday. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got married at Madison Square Garden on Friday night, which means we may have a future Swift Kelce baby soon. So naturally I started thinking...

Hi there! Welcome to the first issue of Clovie's Newsletter: The Little Loop. This one took me a few hours: real research, a full do-over halfway through, and a hard rule that nothing made the list unless I'd actually take my own kids. Speaking of me: I was born and raised in Potomac, then spent 12 years living and working in NYC. I met my husband there, had a baby, and we moved back to Maryland when my son was six weeks old. Cramming all of that (new city, a newborn, the suburbs, a new...
